உலகெங்கிலும் உள்ள இந்து பக்தர்களால் மிகுந்த பக்தியுடனும் உற்சாகத்துடனும் இன்று (15) தைப்பொங்கல் தினம் கொண்டாடப்படுகின்றது.
வெற்றிகரமான விளைச்சலுக்கு உதவிய சூரியக் கடவுளுக்கும், கால்நடைகளுக்கும், இயற்கை அன்னைக்கும், நன்றி உணர்வை எடுத்தியம்பும் கொண்டாட்டமாக தைப்பொங்கல் தினம் அமைகின்றது. செழிப்பு மற்றும் நன்றியுணர்வை அடையாளப்படுத்தும் தைப்பொங்கல் பண்டிகை, சிறந்த விளைச்சலுக்கு நன்றி பாராட்டும் ஒரு நிகழ்வு மாத்திரமன்றி, எதிர்காலத்தில் தைரியத்துடனும் நம்பிக்கையுடனும் ஒரு புதிய பயணத்தைத் தொடங்குவதற்கான அழைப்பாகவும் அமைகிறது.
அண்மையில் நாம் சந்தித்த மிகப் பாரிய இயற்கைப் அனர்த்தத்தைத் தொடர்ந்து, ஒரு தேசமாக மீண்டெழும் நம்பிக்கையுடனும் அயராத முயற்சி மற்றும் உறுதியுடனும், இதுவரை இல்லாத அளவிலான பாரிய புனரமைப்பு செயற்பாட்டில் நாம் ஒன்றாக கைகோர்த்துள்ளோம். அந்த வேலைத்திட்டத்துடன் மென்மேலும் வலுவாக கைகோர்க்க முன்வருமாறு சுபீட்சமான எதிர்பார்ப்புடன் இந்தத் தைப்பொங்கல் திருநாளில், நான் அனைவரிடமும் மீண்டும் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறேன்.
மேலும், இயற்கையுடன் நெருக்கமாக இருக்க வேண்டிய அவசியம் முன்னெப்போதையும் விட அதிகமாக உணரப்படும் இந்த நேரத்தில், இயற்கையுடன் ஆழமாக இணைக்கப்பட்ட தைப் பொங்கல் பண்டிகை, நமது வாழ்க்கைக்கும் சமூகத்திற்கும் உயர்வான அர்த்தத்தைச் சேர்க்கிறது என்பதை நினைவூட்ட விரும்புகிறேன். எந்தவொரு இருளுக்கும் பிறகு ஒளி பிறக்கும் என்று நாம் உறுதியாக நம்புகிறோம். உறுதியுடனும் ஒற்றுமையுடனும் சவால்களை வென்று ‘வளமான நாடு – அழகான வாழ்க்கையை’ கட்டியெழுப்புவதற்கான பயணத்திற்கு இவ்வருட தைப் பொங்கல் பண்டிகை சிறந்த ஆசிர்வாதமாக அமைய பிரார்த்திக்கிறேன்.
இலங்கையிலும் உலகெங்கிலும் உள்ள அனைத்து தமிழ் மக்களுக்கு மகிழ்ச்சியான தைப்பொங்கல் தின வாழ்த்துகள்.

ලෝකවාසී හින්දු බැතිමතුන් මහත් බැතියෙන් සහ උද්යෝගයෙන් සමරන තෛපොංගල් උත්සවය අදට (15) යෙදී තිබේ.
සාර්ථක අස්වැන්නක් ලබා ගැනීමට සහාය වූ හිරු දෙවියන්ටත්, ගව මහේෂාධී සත්වයන්ටත්, සොබාදහමටත් කෘතවේදීත්වය පිරිනැමීම තෛපොංගල් උත්සවයේදී සිදු කෙරේ.
සශ්රීකත්වය සහ කෘතගුණ දැක්වීම සංකේතවත් කරන තෛපොංගල් උත්සවය සරු අස්වැන්නක් පමණක් නොව අනාගතය පිළිබඳ ධෛර්යකින් සහ විශ්වාසයකින් යුතුව නව ගමනක් ආරම්භ කිරීමටද ආරාධනා කෙරෙන අවස්ථාවකි.
මෑතකාලීනව මුහුණ දුන් විශාලතම ස්වභාවික ව්යසනයෙන් අනතුරුව, ජාතියක් ලෙස යළි ගොඩනැඟීමේ අපේක්ෂා දල්වාගෙන, මහත් පරිශ්රමයකින් සහ දැඩි අධිෂ්ඨානයෙන් යුතුව එදා මෙදා තුර විශාලතම ප්රතිසංස්කරණ ප්රයත්නයට අපි එක්ව උර දී සිටින්නෙමු. එකී වැඩපිළිවෙළ සමග තව තවත් ශක්තිමත්ව ඇත්වැල් බැඳ ගැනීමට පෙරට එන ලෙස සශ්රීකත්වයේ අපේක්ෂා පෙරදැරි කරගත් මෙම තෛපොංගල් දිනයේදී මම සියලු දෙනාගෙන් යළි ඉල්ලා සිටිමි.
එසේම, සොබාදහමට වඩාත් සමීප වීමේ අවශ්යතාව අන් කවරදාටත් වඩා දැඩිව දැනෙමින් තිබෙන මේ මොහොතේ, සොබාදහම සමඟ ගැඹුරින් බැඳුණු තෛපොංගල් උත්සවය අපගේ ජීවිතවලටත්, සමාජයටත් මහඟු අරුතක් එක් කරන බව මෙහිලා සිහිපත් කිරීමට කැමැත්තෙමි.
ඕනෑම අන්ධකාරයකට පසුව ආලෝකයක් ඇති බව අප දැඩිව විශ්වාස කරමු. තිර අදිටනින් සහ එකමුතුව අභියෝග ජය ගනිමින් ‘පොහොසත් රටක් – ලස්සන ජීවිතයක්’ ගොඩනැඟීමට යන ගමනට මෙවර තෛපොංගල් සැමරුම මහඟු ආශිර්වාදයක් වේවා’යි ප්රාර්ථනා කරමින් ශ්රී ලාංකික සහ ලොව පුරා වෙසෙන සියලු දෙමළ ජනතාවට සෞභාග්යවත් සුබ තෛපොංගල් සැමරුමකට ශුභාශිංසන එක් කරමි.

The Thai Pongal festival, celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm by Hindu devotees across the world, falls today (15).
At Thai Pongal, gratitude is expressed to the Sun God, to cattle such as cows and bulls that support a successful harvest and to nature itself. Symbolising prosperity and thankfulness, Thai Pongal is not merely a celebration of a bountiful harvest, but also an invitation to embark upon a new journey towards the future with courage and confidence.
In the aftermath of the greatest natural disaster we have faced in recent times, kindling the hope of rising again as a nation, we are together shouldering the greatest reconstruction effort ever undertaken, with immense effort and firm determination. On this Thai Pongal Day, which looks forward to prosperity, I once again call upon everyone to come forward and join hands even more strongly with this endeavour.
At a time when the need to draw closer to nature is felt more keenly than ever before, I wish to remind you that the Thai Pongal festival, which is deeply connected with nature, adds profound meaning to our lives and to our society.
We firmly believe that there is light after every darkness. As we move forward with unwavering resolve and unity to overcome challenges and build, ‘A Thriving Nation – A Beautiful Life’, may this year’s Thai Pongal celebration be a great blessing. I extend my heartfelt best wishes for a joyous and prosperous Thai Pongal to all Sri Lankan Tamils and to Tamils living across the world.
